Love these cookies!
I adore these cookies! We make them every year around Christmas time and now they are all gone, so I might make some more! So tasty! Here is the very simple recipe:
Jam Thumbprint Cookies
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2/3 c. jelly or jam
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2/3 c. jelly or jam
Soften butter. Add flour and sugar; mix well. A small amount of water may be added to the dough to facilitate mixing. Roll into 1/2 inch balls. Flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Indent center. Add 1/2 teaspoon jam or jelly. Bake at 350 degrees until slightly brown. Makes 3 dozen.

Thank you Jlyne!! I made the cookies and EVERYBODY loved them! We only had 2 jams in the fridge: strawberry and pineapple. So we made both, and both were awesome! I loved the strawberry jam but the pineapple tasted great too - kind of like a pineapple upside down cake - yum! My only reget? I should have made a double batch :D

Oh, I've made these every year for about 10 yrs, but I add almond extract, and make a glaze with 10x sugar and almond extract. Everyone LOVES them. I made them with red and black raspberry jams this year. It's my fave too!!!!!!
